My husband and I attended the performance on Sunday, June 17th, with two of our dear friends. It was an event like no other I have experienced in my life. I am relatively new to the PSO, my husband and I attending concerts this year for the first time since we were in school. One reason for the long delay, is that we have been caregivers for elderly family members for many many years, and had few opportunities to enjoy cultural events such as this.
Let me just say about Mahler’s Sixth Symphony as performed by our wonderful PSO: The English language lacks superlatives intense enough (or,should I say MY vocabulary so lacks) to depict and describe the power and intensity and richness of this work. Thank You Maestro Honeck, and all of the energetic and talented members of this world class orchestra! BRAVO!
