Guest soloists include The Little Mermaid, Toy Story 3 star Jodi Benson, Broadway’s ‘Phantom’ Gary Mauer, Pittsburgh’s own North Star Kids
PITTSBURGH – Fiddlesticks, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s musical ambassador, will join Santa, a Pittsburgh-area choir and stars from film and Broadway in a special Highmark Holiday Pops concert the entire family can enjoy.
The concert will be at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, at Heinz Hall. Tickets, ranging from $15 to $59, can be purchased by calling the Heinz Hall box office at 412.392.4900, or online at www.pittsburghsymphony.org.
This year’s concert features guest soloists Jodi Benson, who was the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Barbie in Toy Story 3, and Gary Mauer, star of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera. The Pittsburgh-area choir, North Star Kids, also will perform. Santa will make a special appearance.
Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh will lead the PSO in a program that includes such holiday favorites as A Christmas Song, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Let it Snow and It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Benson and Mauer also will sing songs from the hit Disney movies, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Cinderella.
Children can follow Fiddlesticks in merry measure around Heinz Hall with a special Holiday Time Adventures starting at 10 a.m., and have photographs taken by the glorious Christmas tree in the Grand Lobby.
