Okay, first of all, did anyone else know that Mozart, the same guy who wrote the extremely technically difficult Piano Quartet No. 1also wrote Twinkle Twinkle Little Star??? I didn’t.
Anyway, last Wednesday I saw Itzhak Perlman in concert. He was, and I’m not engaging in hyperbole here, sublime. Usually, I’m pretty touch on violinists, just because my favorite violinist is Joshua Bell and he’s no easy act to follow.
But wow, Itzhak Perlman is pretty damn talented. I mean, usually as the symphony plays, I read my program and learn about the piece and the performers but I swear, I COULD NOT look away from the guy! I was hypnotized, mesmerized! It was insane and, besides the two times I saw J. Bell perform, I had never ever been so entranced. But I. Perl got the skills to pay the bills and it was great.
It just makes me so proud of the PSO and the level of talent they are able to attract. I mean, John Williams, Michael Feinstein, Emanuel Ax, Jason Alexander and Patti LuPone.
Amazing Amazing! What a great time to be a part of the PSO!!!!
