preview – Elizabeth Perry

Since tonight’s preview concert was general admission, I voted to sit way down front – so close to the stage we were practically in the viola section.  Painted until intermission, and then simply listened.

  1. I think this is a great way to convey the spirit of the Symphony. Nice to see the PSO doesn’t mind people taking pictorial evidence of their performances — at least as long as there’s no flash to blind the musicians. 😉

Simply beautiful! I wish I had such artistic talent.
That’s the section I sat last year, but I find it interesting to listen from different areas of Heinz Hall.

    Thank you.
Justin, I was told that if any visiting artists were recognizable, that the blog administrators might need to pause and get permission before posting, but otherwise the Symphony hasn’t suggested any limits. My materials are pretty unobtrusive – the paper is about 5″ x 8″ and my paint set fits in an Altoids gum tin.
Doug, I’ve seen your photographs, so you better not say you haven’t got an artist’s eye – and craft! I’m really looking forward to the changing perspective of different seats for each concert as well.

  4. Elizabeth, your painting is amazing! What incredible talent you have…
