trawling YouTube – Blog Host Jonathan

If you’re reading this post, you’ve probably also discovered the miriad joys of YouTube.com – especially the wonderful videos of musicians and orchestras therein. 

I don’t quite spend the entire working day browsing (!), although it does make a very enjoyable lunch-break, and as such, two videos have recently come to my attention: 

The first is one that came via email from Roy Sonne (PSO violinist):

The second features some of our own musicians – Jennifer Orchard and Mikhail Istomin [along with their trio‘s pianist, Igor Kraevsky], and is video from a rehearsal on their recent trip to Russia.  They were there last week, and backstage Misha (Mikhail) told me that one of the most interesting things about the trip was being back in his homeland during the memorial services for both Boris Yeltsin and Mstislav Rostropovich – they even got to see their monuments, which are side-by-side in the Novodevichye cemetary in Moscow:
